Manchester United’s new £55million signing was handed his first start for the club in pre-season, though the Englishman’s performance was deemed a “generational disasterclass” by some.

He was reported to have prioritised a move to Old Trafford over other potential suitors after being convinced of the project by Ten Hag. And he was so keen to complete the move that he cut short a family holiday to Disneyland.
